PSS/Emergency Medical Technician (EMTI)
ROLE: Medic support to principal and PRS detail members.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Accompany PRS details and provide medic support as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
U.S. Citizen/TCN
Level 2 English proficiency
Three (3) years U.S. Military Special Forces/Operations Medic experience or equivalent
This experience and background may have been gained in any of the following organizations:
- U.S. Department of State Diplomatic Security Service
- U.S. Secret Service
- U.S. Federal Agencies, e.g., FBI (Former special agents with protective security background)
- U.S. Special Forces, Special Operations
- U.S. Military Infantry (Army or USMC)
- Commercial executive protection services with military or police background
- Law enforcement experience (U.S. Military Police/Criminal Investigation Division;
or an Emergency Services, Special Weapons, or Tactical Operations type unit of a local
or state law enforcement agency)
The EMT-I shall successfully complete the PSS training requirements CONUS and shall receive extensive ON JOB TRAINING (OJT) OCONUS.
Contractor shall comply with best effort the following EMT I Qualifications:
- Successful completion of a state-approved EMT-Intermediate/85 educational program
- Submission of current approved CPR credential for the professional rescuer
- Successful completion of the National Registry EMT-Intermediate/85 written and practical examinations
- Registration must be valid for the period of deployment
- Candidates with invalid registration should review the requirements at www.nremt.org
- After successfully completing the required training and initial deployment, Blackwater will assist financially in obtaining your recertification. Call for details.
Note: EMT-B and EMT-I indicates EMT-I/85 provides all EMT-B skills as well as Scene Size up, Initial Trauma Assessment, Rapid Trauma Assessment, Ventilator Management and IV therapy.
EMT-I is the minimum standard for PSS-Medic personnel.
