Blackwater USA Mourns Loss Three Blackwater Security Professionals and one State Department official killed in Iraq

On the morning of September 18, three Blackwater Security Professionals and one State Department official were killed in the vicinity of Mosul, Iraq while traveling in a motorcade. The four American citizens were killed by a suicide attack utilizing a vehicle borne improvised explosive device. Blackwater provides personal security services in Iraq.

Blackwater grieves the loss of all four men, and shares its deepest sympathy with their families. Our sincere condolences, thoughts, and prayers extend to all of our colleagues during their continued service to their country. Their untimely deaths illustrate the extraordinary conditions under which these individuals voluntarily serve to bring freedom and democracy to the Iraqi people.

We ask that these men, their families and all other Americans serving overseas be kept in everyone’s prayers.

The families of the fallen personnel have been notified and Blackwater requests that their privacy be respected.
