BLACKWATER USA PARACHUTE TEAM LAUNCHED
Champion Skydivers to Perform for the Public, Compete in National & International Events,
and Test & Evaluate New Equipment
Moyock, NC - Blackwater USA today announced the formation of the Blackwater Parachute Team (BWPT), which will compete
internationally and demonstrate the latest parachuting techniques and technologies.
Comprised of both current and former World Champions and World Record Holders in Formation Skydiving
and Canopy Formation parachuting, the five members of the BWPT have over 36,000 parachute jumps among them.
This makes them the most experienced parachute demonstration team in the world!
Each member of the team was chosen based on individual talent, professional accomplishments, and the ability
to travel internationally while increasing public awareness of Blackwater and its worldwide commitment to
freedom and democracy everywhere.
The BWPT has two prior military members that served tours respectively on the United States Army Parachute
Team (Golden Knights) and the United States Navy Parachute Team (Leap Frogs).
The team’s first performance will be for the Opening Ceremony at the Special Operations Forces Exhibition (SOFEX)
in Amman, Jordan at the King Abdullah I air base on March 27, 2006. The team’s next performance will be at the
Virginia Gold Cup in Middleburg, VA on May 06, 2006.
Based at the Blackwater Training Center in Moyock, North Carolina, the BWPT will:
Perform live aerial demonstrations for the public,
Support Blackwater’s recruiting efforts and encourage young Americans to explore
careers in the armed forces and particularly in special operations,
Compete in national and international parachuting competitions, and
Test and evaluate new parachuting equipment and techniques for improved operation
and safety for specialized customers.
