Aerial maneuvers are rehearsed to ensure a safe performance during the actual event and Team Member are always aware of their exit point, freefall drift, opening point and landing area. Safe landings are always an extreme priority and spectator’s safety will never be taken for granted. Many events are limited in time or space and The Blackwater Parachute Team offers several maneuvers that can be available with respect to safety and timing of the event.

Freefall:
Barber pole: Two or more jumpers with two or more colors of smoke exit and fly together. The jumpers then spin the formation creating a giant barber pole.
Starburst: three or more jumpers exit and form a star, then break, make a 180° turn, and move apart.

Canopy:
Canopy Relative Work (CRW): Many different formation such as the Diamond, “T”, and the Drag-Plane/Down-Plane formations Candy-Cane Smoke: after opening, multiple colored smokes are suspended on a 10-foot line below the jumper. The jumper makes a series of turns in one direction creating the Candy-Cane effect. Flags: Any flag or banner may be attached or suspended from the jumper for advertisement or recognition of an event.

Important Note: If the Blackwater Parachute Team performance is cancelled due to inclement weather conditions, aircraft un-serviceability, or unforeseen last minute circumstances, the show sponsor remains financially responsible for all of these items.


TANDEM JUMPS
Tandem parachuting is tremendous media event and can certainly create a very positive view of event activities. The Tandem Instructor is a highly trained professional parachutist who has completed many hours of training to insure the safe care of the passenger who can be a VIP of any background. Tandem Instructors of the Blackwater Parachute Team have several thousand tandem jumps each and have experience with high level distinguished passengers Tandem jumps have been an active method of parachuting for over 20 years and the Blackwater Parachute Team members have been conducting tandem jumps for the past 18 years.

The Blackwater Parachute Team will conduct a maximum of two (2) tandem jumps with media personnel and/or VIPs at a few pre-determined event sites. If the team has committed to perform at your site, remember that this does not necessarily mean the Team will perform tandem jumps. The purpose of tandem jumps is to show our appreciation for sponsoring the Blackwater Parachute Team.

In order for a tandem jump to occur, the passenger must not exceed 95 kilos (209 lbs). Moreover, individuals 50 years old and older must acquire a letter signed by a medical doctor specifying they are fit enough to participate in a tandem jump. Sponsors may be required to provide a TV and DVD player at the tandem site for the persons participating in tandem jumps to view a safety video prior to the jump.

You should contact the Blackwater Parachute Team office a minimum of one month prior to the tandem jump(s) with the confirmed names and affiliations of the designated personnel in order to obtain the required approval. The Demonstration Team Coordinator will inform you when approval has been granted.
