Tactical Equipment Evaluation
From The SHOT Show Floor 2008
It's SHOT Show: what would you expect? The Las Vegas Convention Center isn't apparently big enough to hold all the exhibitors as there is the "Gold Hall" set up out in the parking lot. I had to laugh: "Gold Hall": a huge tent in the parking lot. But it's a testament to how big SHOT Show has grown. Last year ('07) I walked between 15 and 20 miles each day. Recreational Equipment Review
Lest We Forget: SHOT Started With Outdoors
It's easy for those of us in the military and law enforcement industries to view SHOT Show as an event for US. However, we have to remember what the acronym stands for and how the event started 30 years ago: Shooting Hunting Outdoor Trade Show. Since a large part of our recreational activities (those of cops and soldiers) take place in that place we call "outdoor", I felt we needed to have a larger focus on it this year in our reviews. Here's an early take on the true SHOT atmosphere that reaches back to its roots: the great outdoors.

DEADLINES...
Deadlines will catch us all at sometime.
I am having trouble adjusting to my newest one.
Every Peace Keeper faces and deals with deadlines. My newest one
is the submission deadline for CHAPLAIN CORNER. It falls in the
middle of my difficult work week. I deal with my most difficult
deadline four mornings a week when I am assigned to be on duty at
0600. That 0600 deadline is difficult because I seldom get enough
sleep. The lack of sleep is due to several crisis... Some mornings
my eyes just refuse to see and when I force them open they hurt
for lack of rest.
