  Honesty in Immigration
By Newt Gingrich
The thousands of people we have seen marching in the streets of our cities and the planned May 1 boycott to protest U.S. immigration policy are the product of two decades of a fundamentally dishonest immigration system.
For more than 20 years, the United States has failed to control the borders or enforce immigration laws while many U.S. businesses have profited by breaking the law. In turn, the U.S. government failure to enforce the immigration laws has encouraged outright defiance of federal authority by certain state and local jurisdictions. Adding insult to this deplorable state of affairs is an immigration bureaucracy that has been slow, cumbersome, rude, heartless, and incompetent in the discharge of its duties.

Analyst Say a Nuclear Iran is Years Away

From our friends at The Terrorism Research Center (http://www.terrorism.com)
Western nuclear analysts said yesterday that Tehran lacked the skills, materials and equipment to make good on its immediate nuclear ambitions, even as a senior Iranian official said Iran would defy international pressure and rapidly expand its ability to enrich uranium for fuel. http://www.terrorism.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=WarReports&file=index&view=1121

Deaths During Police Intervention

By RICHARD PARENT, Ph.D.
A 35-year-old male with a history of bipolar disorder fatally stabbed his 9-year-old son on the front lawn of the family residence. After shouting that he had “killed Satan,” he began removing most of his clothing. Summoned to the scene, six officers approached the irrational subject. They employed pepper spray to gain control of the combative male, handcuffed him, and “hog-tied” his legs to restrain him while they placed him in the rear of a police vehicle. As this occurred, the man suffered a massive heart attack and died. A subsequent coroner’s inquest determined that his death resulted from excited delirium.
Two police officers responded to a report of a “male acting crazy and taking his clothes off.” When they arrived at the scene, they saw the man, wearing only his underwear, standing in the street. When the two officers tried to reason with him, a fight ensued. Several people in the area came to the aid of the officers in their attempt to arrest the violent, combative individual. Upon achieving control of him, the officers handcuffed the man who suddenly went into coronary arrest. The officers administered CPR but to no avail. A subsequent coroner’s investigation determined the cause of death as a cocaine overdose.

Tens of Thousands in NYC Protest War

Tens of thousands of protesters marched Saturday through lower Manhattan to demand an immediate withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq, just hours after this month's death toll reached 70.
Cindy Sheehan, a vociferous critic of the war whose soldier son also died in Iraq, joined in the march, as did actress Susan Sarandon and the Rev. Jesse Jackson.

This paper rack will self-destruct in 10 seconds

A newspaper promotion for Tom Cruise’s upcoming “Mission: Impossible III” got off to an explosive start when a county arson squad blew up a news rack, thinking it contained a bomb.
The confusion: the Los Angeles Times rack was fitted with a digital musical device designed to play the “Mission: Impossible” theme song when the door was opened. But in some cases, the red plastic boxes with protruding wires were jarred loose and dropped onto the stack of newspapers inside, alarming customers.

Medal of Honor Fakers Are Proliferating

A proliferation of phony heroes is prompting such groups as The Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation to lobby for tougher laws to punish the impostors.
The organization reports that there are 113 living recipients of the nation's highest military award, but an FBI agent who tracks the fakes said impostors outnumber the true heroes.

Al-Qaida weaker, but resilient, U.S. warns

Leaders of al-Qaida lost some control of the terror network last year due to the arrests and deaths of top operational planners, but the group remains the most prominent terror threat facing the United States and its allies, the State Department said Friday.
In its annual report on worldwide terrorism, the department singled out Iran as the most active state sponsor of terrorism, saying that its Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and Ministry of Intelligence and Security directly have been involved in the planning and support of terrorist acts.

Service Equipment Review:

Rapid Deployment Body Armor Bag
–Everything You Need, WHEN You Need It

While I was at SHOT Show, I ran into a gentleman who was presenting information about a "new gun bag". Okay... I have to admit that at first I wasn't interested. I mean, it's SHOT Show. Everyone has something new to show and the large majority of them are purely there to make a buck. Very little of it actually answers a real need. Of that, even less answers a need had by the people who work behind guns. After I got a little information my curiosity was up. After I got to actually examine the product, and test it myself (done pretty quickly but thoroughly just the same) I was quite enthusiastic. In today's world of Active Shooter / Immediate Response training, EVERY COP should have their long rifle in one of these Rapid Deployment Body Armor Bags. This is an innovation we've been waiting for.

Recreational Equipment Review:

HydraStorm Barracuda

In the world of hydration systems, design features are what's important. I know, I know. It's an article about a specific hydration system and I just made a statement that essentially means the bladder, tube, etc aren't really that important. That's not what I mean. But those parts are common to ALL hydration systems. The fine details are what sets them apart. This week I'm going to take a look at the new Barracuda hydration system from HydraStorm, a part of the BlackHawk family. True to form, it's everything you'd expect from a BlackHawk / HydraStorm product and will certainly stay a part of my outdoor equipment inventory.
