"Death and life are in the
power of the tongue," (USE OF WORDS), "and they who
indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or for life]."
Proverbs 18:21 Amplified
If we want life we MUST build it by what we say
(confess, speak, utter, act out,
convey)... If we are not saying the right things... then we are
destroying rather than
building.
To "confess" means to acknowledge. When you confess the Word of God
(the Bible), you are acknowledging the power
(the can do) and
truth (the reality)
of that Word in your life. The following is a 'confession' of faith for
PeaceKeepers!
The scriptures it was taken from are noted within the text. It
would be good material
to always have with you, in your thoughts and in your
heart.

A PEACE KEEPER'S CONFESSION (Guest article amplified with permission)
I am a PEACE KEEPER for Almighty God! God has called me and
placed
me in this position of authority. He is my COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF
because I work as His servant for the good of all people. (Romans
13:1-4).
I have confidence in my ability to carry out my duties because God
has given me His Spirit, as my Instructor and Guide, and the
mind of Christ,
my Eternal Captain, so that I may know His will (1 Corinthians
2:10-16).
I call upon God and He gives me wisdom to know how to handle every
situation that I encounter (James 1:5).
My God is my protection. He guards me as I come and go from
my
assignments and patrols (Psalm 121:7-8). His faithfulness
is my
shield and
buckler (wrapping, wrapped in Him) (Psalm 91:4).
The Word of God (which is the Sword of the Spirit) is my primary weapon
for attacking evil (Ephesians 6:17); when I speak it,
it protects my life
(Proverbs 18:21a)(Mark 11:23-24) and brings good results.
No harm will
come to me, for God's angels protect me as I work (Psalm 91:10-11) and
I am more than a conqueror through Christ (Romans 8:37-39).
My God is the defense of my life, so I fear no one (Psalm 27:1).
He trains my hands for when I have to fight (Psalm 144:1). I
will not be afraid of ambush during the night or the weapons that
come by day (Psalm 91:5-7). When I come upon trouble, God will be
with me and rescue me (Psalm 91:14-15).
If anyone attacks me, they will be defeated because of me. No weapon
that has been made to be used against me shall succeed (Isaiah 54:14-
17). When I call upon Almighty God, the Lord, I am saved from
my enemies
(Psalm 18:3). He empowers me to fight against a group of
assailants and to
leap over walls during a chase (Psalm 18:29)!
I WILL return to my place of rest, (Psalm 23),at the end of every
tour of duty,
for I shall not die. I will LIVE and tell of the works of the Lord, my
Lord, my Almighty
God, my COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF (Psalm 118:17)! With a long life He will
satisfy
me (Psalm 91:16)!
AMEN!

This "CONFESSION" was designed for Christians in the fullness of it.
Jewish
warriors can profit from the Old Testament references. Someone who has
no
spiritual preference may profit from the complete article by finding
out what has been
said that they might take into their lives and gain a spiritual life.
TRUTH IS TRUTH
WHEREVER IT IS FOUND... BUT TRUTH IS OF NO VALUE
UNTIL IT IS
ABSORBED AND APPLIED IN OUR PERSONAL LIVES.
IF THESE TRUTHS DID NOT WORK FOR ME I WOULD NOT BE FOOL ENOUGH...
NOR COULD YOU PAY ME ENOUGH TO PUT THEM IN WRITING TO FELLOW
WARRIOR/PEACE KEEPERS. I WRITE FROM EXPERIENCE... NOT FROM
THEORY... A PERSON WITH EXPERIENCE IS NEVER AT THE MERCY OF A
PERSON WITH A THEORY.

This article was begun on Thursday, June 16... after I filed the draft
I received the
piece which became the PEACE KEEPER'S CONFESSION and sought the
author's permission to alter the original piece to fit the Peace
Keepers to whom I
direct my efforts. Denise and I have exchanged many messages of
appreciation
and encouragement. She agreed to allow my use and alteration of the
material...
Then yesterday I received another message by e-mail from a reader that
fit right
into this subject. It came from the internet and I do not know its
author. It is as
follows;
I hope this forwards successfully. I have sent this to each of you
because in some
way you have made or are still making a difference in
my life, and most likely in
many others as well. Thank you, and God
bless.

A teacher in New York decided to honor each
of her seniors
in High School by
telling them the difference each of them had made.
She called each student to the
front of the class, one at a
time. First, she told each of them how they had made a
difference
to her and the class. Then she presented each of them with a blue
ribbon, imprinted with gold letters, which read,"Who I Am Makes a
Difference."
Afterwards, the teacher decided to do a class project,
to see what kind of impact
recognition would have on a Community. She
gave each of the students three more
blue ribbons, and instructed them
to go out and spread this acknowledgment
ceremony. Then they were to
follow up on the results, see who honored whom, and
report back to the
class in about a week. One of the boys in the class went to a
junior executive in a nearby company, and honored him for helping him
with his
career planning. He gave him a blue ribbon, and put it on
his shirt. Then he gave
him two extra ribbons and said, "We're doing
a class project on recognition, and
we'd like for you to go out, find
somebody to honor, give them a blue ribbon, then
give them the extra
blue ribbon so they can acknowledge a third person, to keep
this
acknowledgment ceremony going. Then please report back to me and tell
me
what happened."
Later that day, the junior executive went in
to see his
boss, who had been noted, by
the way, as being kind of a grouchy
fellow. He sat his boss down, and he told him
that he deeply
admired him for being a creative genius. The boss seemed very
surprised. The junior executive asked him if he would accept the gift
of the blue
ribbon, and would he give him permission to put it on
him. His surprised boss said,
"Well, sure." The junior executive
took the blue ribbon and placed it right on his
boss's jacket, above
his heart. As he gave him the last extra ribbon, he said,
"Would
you take this extra ribbon, and pass it on by honoring somebody else?
The young boy who first gave me the ribbons is doing a project in
school, and we
want to keep this recognition ceremony going and find
out how it affects people."
That night, the boss came home to his
14-year-old son, and
sat him down. He said,
"The most incredible thing happened to me
today. I was in my office, and one of
the junior executives came in
and told me he admired me, and gave me a blue
ribbon for being a
creative genius. Imagine! He thinks I'm a creative genius! Then
he
put this blue ribbon that says," Who I Am Makes a Difference" on my
jacket
above my heart. He gave me an extra ribbon and asked me to find
somebody else
to honor. As I was driving home tonight, I started
thinking about whom I would honor
with this ribbon, and I thought
about you. I want to honor you. My days are really
hectic and when I
come home, I don't pay a lot of attention to you. Sometimes I
scream
at you for not getting good enough grades in school, and for your
bedroom
being a mess. But somehow tonight, I just wanted to sit here
and, well, just let you
know that you do make a difference to me.
Besides your mother, you are the most
important person in my life.
You're a great kid, and I love you!"
The startled boy started to sob and sob, and
he couldn't
stop crying. His whole body
shook. He looked up at his father and
said through his tears, "Dad, earlier tonight I
sat in my room and
wrote a letter to you and Mom, explaining why I had killed myself,
and
asked you to forgive me. I was going to commit suicide tonight after
you were
asleep. I just didn't think that you cared at all. The
letter is upstairs. I don't think I
need it after all."
His father walked upstairs and found a
heartfelt letter
full of anguish and pain. The
boss went back to work a changed man.
He was no longer a grouch, but made
sure to let all of his employees
know that they made a difference. The junior
executive helped
several other young people with career planning, and never forgot
to
let them know that they made a difference in his life......one being
the boss' son.
And the young boy and his classmates learned a
valuable lesson, Who you are
DOES make a difference.
Who you are does make a difference, and I want you
to know
that. I'm passing the
blue ribbon to you, for who YOU are AND WHAT YOU DO
makes a difference
too.

Very early in my study of "THE BOOK", the Bible, I found an amazing
theme running
all through it from front to back... the theme of watch what you say
and how you say it.
I also discovered that as I learned it and practiced it... it changed
my life from the
inside out. It changed my attitude. It changed my speech. It changed
my thinking.
It changed my goals. It changed my ideals. IT ALSO CHANGED MY
RESULTS!!
Most of you who read these words are on a battlefield of some
kind... each of you
must battle and overcome something in daily life. That is what life
is... life is not ever
static... it does not stand still... it comes and it must be dealt
with. In life and job the
same is all too true. We must receive, evaluate, follow directions and
overcome
some element that is thrust upon us by circumstances, some one else,
work
demands and/or other sources. Life is arbitrary... IT HAPPENS IN SPITE
OF US.
WHAT WE DO WITH IT IS UP TO US.
NONE OF YOU WHO READ THESE WORDS ARE RUNNERS FROM LIFE SO
YOU ARE THOSE WHO RESPOND TO WHAT COMES TO YOU WHEREVER
YOU ARE. In the professional arena that usually is not too
difficult... In personal life
it can be something else entirely. We MUST approach living and working
with the
very same attitude in order to be successful... I CAN DO THIS... I AM
SUFFICIENT
TO THE TASK... I WILL DO THE VERY BEST I CAN WITH WHAT I HAVE
WHEREVER I AM AND LEAVE THE REST TO GOD OR WHOMEVER ELSE IS
RESPONSIBLE... AND I WILL NOT WORRY OR WEARY MYSELF ABOUT THAT
WHICH I CANNOT DO.
JESUS SAID, (MATTHEW 12, 37), "For by your words you
will be justified... and
by your words you will be condemned."
The Bible also says, "That which you sow... that shall you also reap."
(Gelatians 6:7)
The kind of words you think and put out determine the kind of
words others
receive from you, think on and give back to you. THE
MESSAGE YOU SEND
TO OTHERS IS THE MESSAGE WHICH RETURNS TO YOU AGAIN... IN ALL
OF LIFE.
As a Peace Keeper you must evaluate the message you send
out to loved ones,
family, friends, coworkers, on the job contacts... every one in your
life. What are you
sending? What are you receiving? Is it clear and plain... Is it as
good as it can be
under the circumstances... What responses are you receiving... Are you
evaluating
and resending a message that is as clear as possible????
I see all this... I practice all this... it usually works... When it
does not work we must
become adaptable and use whatever method that becomes necessary at the
moment in all circumstances. Sometimes our words and attitude will not
be received
by another and walking away is necessary if there is no other
alternative... but we
have to capture our thoughts and communication so that we can make sure
it is the
best that we can send under the circumstances.
PLEASE REMEMBER... THERE ARE THREE THINGS THAT CAN CAUSE
YOUR
DEATH OR DESTRUCTION...
ATTITUDE - IF NOT RIGHT IT CAN CAUSE DEATH OF
CAREER... DEATH OF
RELATIONSHIPS... AND DEATH OF LIFE.
STRESS - MORE PROPERLY CALLED DISTRESS - WHEN IT
COMES TO US
WE MUST DEAL WITH IT... OR IT WILL DEAL WITH US. IT WILL NOT LESSEN
NOR GO AWAY ON ITS OWN... IT ACCUMULATES AND BUILDS UP.
PEOPLE - WORDS WILL STOP SOME PEOPLE... ONLY FORCE
WILL STOP
OTHERS. WE MUST USE WORDS WHEN IT IS POSSIBLE... IN SO DOING WE
MAY HEAD OFF THE NEED FOR ANY OTHER ACTION. I PRACTICE THIS ALL
DAY, EVERY DAY... EVEN IF NO OTHER PERSON IS PRESENT... I TALK TO
THE COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF OFTEN. I WANT NOTHING LESS THAN THE
BEST POSSIBLE OUTCOME OF MY DAY INVOLVING THE PEOPLE, THE
EVENTS AND THE CIRCUMSTANCES OF MY DAY AS IT COMES TO ME.
OCEAN FRONT WALKING BEAT DUTY GIVES ME AMPLE OPPORTUNITY TO
TEST ALL OF THIS USE OF WORDS AND COMMUNICATION. WORDS
USUALLY WORK... IF NOT THEN OTHER MEANS ARE EMPLOYED AS THE
CIRCUMSTANCES DICTATE...
I began this journey in Law Enforcement forty three years ago... I have
never had to
injure anyone... and I have received only two minor scratches. I
started learning from
the Virginia State Police and from experience. When I came into
contact with my
Eternal Captain, the Lord Jesus Christ, my education accelerated. Now
I am still
constantly learning and relearning... Applying and reapplying... I do
this until I achieve
the results promised. If it did not work I would not be here to write
this message to
you today. Many times I could have been gone from here in less than a
blink of time.
Yet Here I am... enjoying the benefit of your company in this great
world of Peace
Keepers and Peace Keeping... and I am so glad it is the way it
is.
As I think about you and pray for you I am often overwhelmed
with great joy and
gratitude that you are there and that I am here among you. I am an old
man by
earthly standards and I am blessed with an enormous family of Peace
Keepers...
Protectors, friends, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, grand sons,
grand daughters.
THANK YOU FOR BEING THERE... WHEREVER THERE IS FOR YOU. MY
COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF AND I ETERNALLY APPRECIATE YOUR SERVICE.
AS ALWAYS, "BE CAREFUL OUT THERE." Some who read this last week are
not
here to read it this week. BE ALERT... BE WATCHFUL... BE SUSPICIOUS...
BE
WARY. TAKE THE GREATEST OF CARE OF AND FOR YOU. LIFE MUST BE
BALANCED... YOU MUST CARE FOR YOU SO THAT YOU ARE ABLE TO CARE
FOR OTHERS. SEE TO ALL FACETS OF YOUR LIFE... INCLUDING THE
SPIRITUAL. IF YOU NEGLECT THE SPIRITUAL YOU WILL NOT BE COMPLETE
AND WHEN YOU REALLY NEED IT... IT WILL NOT BE THERE FOR YOU.
AS IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN... SO IT STILL IS...
"VICTORIOUS WARRIORS WIN FIRST... (WITH PROPER PREPARATION)
AND
THEN GO TO WAR,
WHILE DEFEATED WARRIORS GO TO WAR FIRST... (NOT PREPARED)
AND THEN SEEK TO WIN." Sun tzu
ONLY LIVE PEACE KEEPERS SEE THE VICTORY!!!
WITH THE DEEPEST OF APPRECIATION AND RESPECT...
BE BLESSED (A CONDITION TO BE ENVIED)...
BE SUCCESSFUL... BE SAFE...
