"French judge: ATMs help finance militants" and covers money laundering and other financial 'improprieties'.

Radical Islamic cells in Europe are using an ingenious way to finance terror networks that's virtually impossible to trace: withdrawing hundreds of thousands of dollars a month from cash machines with fake credit cards, according to France's top anti-terrorism judge. Jean-Louis Bruguiere, who's been at the forefront of the war on terror for 20 years, also told The Associated Press the Caucasus has replaced Afghanistan as a key militant training ground for Osama bin Laden's al-Qaida network and other groups around the world.

Managing Joint Terrorism Task Force Resources

By JAMES CASEY, M.A.
In a post-September 11 world, successful management of a joint terrorism task force (JTTF) may represent one of the most important aspects of law enforcement's unified war on terrorism. The September 11 attacks placed a high profile on FBI-sponsored JTTFs across the nation and have presented unique management issues for the FBI and participating agencies of the task forces. Organizational and strategic analysis of the threats posed by international and domestic terrorism can help law enforcement executives at all levels develop management structures and protocols for successfully operating the nation's JTTFs, proving mutually beneficial to the FBI, participating law enforcement agencies, and the country's national security effort. "Combatives" Which Cage do you Fight in?

By Ken Good
I would like to address a core assumption that is gaining popularity: The idea that using the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Octagon, K1, so called "no-holds barred" competitions as a measuring stick for "Combatives" in Law Enforcement and/or Military work is useful to the professional armed warrior.
With the exception of the never-ending debate of sighted fire, versus other types of fire, combatives in general seems to draw the most fire in terms of passionate reactions from those that have an opinion on the topic one way or another. I do not mind stirring up the pot, so here we go

Where's 'Whitey'? A decade later, FBI still hunting missing mobster Boston's James Bulger vanished in 1995 to avoid imminent racketeering charges

Fugitive mobster James "Whitey" Bulger is getting better with age, even as federal authorities say they're refining their nearly 10-year hunt for the former Boston crime boss.
Bulger, 75, has made fewer mistakes in recent years. Early on, he made regular contact with associates, but a new detailed timeline of his odyssey shows he's since isolated himself. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6745408/

Robbery began with cruel lie, ends with irony
Bold $42 million heist yields cash that's 'fundamentally useless'
BELFAST, Northern Ireland - On an icy, black Sunday night, police officers brought terrible news to the rural idyll of Kevin McMullan's home: A relative had just been killed in a car crash, they said. It was a lie - and it launched one of the world's biggest bank robberies.
Once inside, the phony officers put a gun to McMullan's head and tied him up, blindfolded his wife, Karen, and then took her away at gunpoint in her own car into the forest. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6741411/

Hackers Aim to Sabotage Holiday Computing
SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - Hackers, spammers and spies go into overdrive in December and January, when unsuspecting neophytes unwrap new computers, connect to the Internet, and, too often, get hit with viruses, spyware and other nefarious programs. FRANKS REVIEW

Longbow Flashlights

Courtesy of Al Garcia
I recently received three models of LED flashlights from the Longbow Company for testing. I found these lights to be attractive in form, function, and price. The thing I found that stood out the most from all other features was the EXTREME durability of the lights tested.

WHY ARE WE AT WAR !!!!!

(Read for the answer)

This will make you cry (upset you, agitate you, might even wake you up if
you are not
awake).  If you are a teacher I hope that you teach the children and tell
this story to
them.

This is a powerful story and hard to read, but it says it better than any
other
explanation that I've seen. It "brings it home" in a way people here,
safe in our
homes, can understand.  I hope you read it and pass it along.

This is by far the best explanation I have ever seen, even though I know
we are doing
the right thing.
