Good morning,
Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend
by the name of Common Sense who
has been with us for many years.
No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago
lost in bureaucratic red tape.
He will be remembered as having cultivated such value lessons as knowing when
to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm and that life
isn't always fair.
Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than
you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not kids, are in
charge).
His health began to rapidly deteriorate when well intentioned but overbearing
regulations were set in place.
Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a
classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a
teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his
condition.
It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent
to administer aspirin to a student; but could not inform the parents when a
student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.
Finally,
Common sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband;
churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than
their victims.
Common Sense finally gave up the ghost after a woman failed to realize that a
steaming cup of coffee was hot, she spilled a bit in her lap, and was awarded
a huge settlement
Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust, his wife,
Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason.
He is survived by two stepbrothers; My Rights and Ima Whiner.
Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you
still know him pass this on,if not join the majority and do nothing.
Sincerely,
Gary Jackson
President

Be courteous to all,
but intimate with few, and let those few be well tried before you give them

In Iraq, a Marine Corps Captain Is
Living Out His Heart's Desire
By Tony Perry
Anyone who prefers that their military officers follow the media-enforced
ideal of being diffident, silent about their feelings, unwilling to talk
about their combat experience and troubled by the violence of their chosen
profession should skip this story.
Marine Corps Capt. Douglas Zembiec is none of these things.

Issues
in Small Town Policing Understanding Stress
By DENNIS LINDSEY, M.Ed., and SEAN KELLY
As
printed in "The Law Enforcement Bulletin"
It is not socially acceptable for law enforcement officers to show emotion,it
is a sign of weakness, a loss of control, and we are trained and programmed
to not lose control under any circumstances. It is inbred into us in the
academy, probationary training, and all aspects of law enforcement that if we
can't handle the stress, we need to get out."1 Between 1976 and 1999,
more than 1,800 law enforcement officers were killed in the line of duty.2
The average of 78 dead officers each year is devastating.3 All law
enforcement professionals would do anything to prevent a fellow officer from
suffering a violent, premature death. And, yet, in 2000, approximately 400
police officers committed suicide.4 Even sadder, those deaths represent the
ones reported as police officer suicides. How many other officers have died
at their own hand due to the stress of "the job"?

SUMMARY
"Terrorism Investments of the
50 States" is the first national security-based statistical
analysis of the investment patterns of America's public pension funds. This
report proves empirically that this nation's largest and most prominent
public pension systems tend to be heavily invested in global publicly traded
companies that have business activities in terrorist-sponsoring states.

Dozens Charged in Crackdown on Spam and Scams
Federal and state law enforcement agencies have quietly arrested or charged
dozens of people with crimes related to junk e-mail, identity theft and other
online scams in recent weeks, according to several people involved in the
actions.
The cases, which have been brought by law enforcement offices around the
country, are expected to be announced by Attorney General John Ashcroft in a
news conference in Washington on Thursday.
Federal authorities have stepped up their efforts to crack down on junk
e-mail messages, or spam, since Congress passed a law last December
criminalizing fraudulent and deceptive e-mail practices. The law subjects
spammers to fines and jail terms of up to five years.

Thatcher's son held over coup plot
Mark Thatcher, the son of former British prime minister Margaret Thatcher,

Lightweight Armor Protection for Combat Vehicles
For many years, homogenous rolled steel (RHA) provides the basic most commonly
used armored hull structure. High Hardness Steel Armor (HHS) is employed
primarily with light weight AFVs. Among other materials used for lightweight
protection of AFVs is the aluminum armor, originally used with the M113
vehicles and the USMC's Advanced Amphibious Assault Vehicle (AAAV). In some
variants, primarily with add-on and up-armor suits, aluminum armor is
combined with outer layers of hard steel or perforated steel (as implemented
on Israeli M-113 APCs in 1982).

Airport security scandal exposed
AN undercover Sun reporter has exposed chilling security blunders - by
smuggling a fake bomb on to a jet carrying more than 220 British
holidaymakers.
ANTHONY FRANCE used bogus references to get a job as a baggage handler.
He then took the "bomb" unchallenged into the hold of the Thomas
Cook 757-200 at Birmingham International Airport. This is his story:

IED - a weapons' profile
IEDs can be prepared almost everywhere, with materials that can be acquired
from agricultural and medical supplies. The preparation does not require
highly technical knowledge. In fact, many "IED engineers" practiced
what they have learned through instructions they received from documents
distributed by terrorist organizations, on CDROMs or over the internet. As
they are not based on standard production formula, IEDs are more difficult to
track and detect, (although they sometime have traces that can identify their
origin). When constructed properly, IEDs can defeat even the highly protected
threats, including main battle tanks and heavily armored bulldozers. Some
IEDs utilize very heavy (200 pounds and more) explosive devices, buried below
the surface of unpaved or paved roads, where they are covered, wait for
activation by remote control. Such activation is usually dependent on
opportunity. http://www.defense-update.com/features/du-3-04/IED.htm
Russia Blames Terrorism for Downed
Jet
One of two Russian airliners that crashed nearly simultaneously was brought
down by a terrorist act, officials said Friday, after finding traces of
explosives in the plane's wreckage. An Islamic militant group claimed
responsibility for the attack in a Web statement.
The planes, with 90 people aboard, went down within 20 minutes of each other
Tuesday night. In Washington, a Bush administration official, speaking on
condition of anonymity, said there is mounting evidence that both crashes
were acts of terrorism.

A captured al-Qaeda operative has told Canadian intelligence investigators
that a Montreal man who trained in Afghanistan alongside the 9/11 hijackers
was responsible for the crash of an American Airlines flight in New York

Canadian Security Intelligence Service agents were told during five days of
interviews with the source that Abderraouf Jdey, a Canadian citizen also
known as Farouk the Tunisian, had downed the plane with explosives on Nov.

Original
S.W.A.T. Boots
30 August 2004
Since 1982 when I first went in the Army as a Military Policeman, I've been
wearing boots - and often cursing them. I've learned that there is a limited
amount of comfort that should be expected from military issue items - and
most often if I'm wearing military issue boots, it feels like they're
breaking me in instead of the other way around. I eventually found some boots
that I enjoyed because they broke in easily and had softer soles, but now
I've found my dream boot: The Original SWAT Classic 9" boot.
Last May I had opportunity to visit the Extreme Outfitters Expo in Virginia
Beach, VA. Due to circumstance, I missed the Original SWAT representative,
but Chief Steven C. Bronson of Tactical Watreborne Operations assured me that
I'd be getting a pair of T&E boots. Why? Because the Chief was so
overwhelmingly impressed with his. So, okay - I'd stand by. In the couple
months since then, I've received a couple of follow up contacts from the
Original SWAT rep. and was assured that T&E boots were on the way. Now
I'm always excited when I get new gear to test out, so the box showing up on
my doorstep brightened my day. Then it got better

SHOULD BE NO SURPRISE,
