  • Good Morning

This is a very hard issue to get written. This week Blackwater has agonized over the loss of four of its professionals. As most of you know the murders in Falujah Iraq earlier this week were men employed by Blackwater.

I ask that all of you keep these mens families in your prayers, contribute to the Victims Fund if possible and maintain the faith that God has his plans.

A Memorial Fund has been established to support the victim's families of the March 31, 2004 Fallujah attack. All memorial gifts will be documented and appropriately acknowledged with due regard to the wishes of the donor and the nature of the contribution. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims
    Please Mail the contributions to:
    Memorial Fund
    PO Box 159

    I Love My Country

    POEM

    Four Brave Men
    By Melissa Vaughan
Four Brave Men were slain today,
and their souls arrived in Heaven.
God said to each, "What do you think of this fate
that you have now been given?"

The First Brave Man, standing tall and proud,
said in his voice like a song,
"Our bodies have been burned and broken,
but our souls are whole and strong."

The Second Brave Man, said with tears in his eyes,
    gesturing down below,
    "Our families may be grieving,
but their love we will forever and always know."

The Third Brave Man, turning to look at the other three,
said in a voice so sure,
"Our colleagues will no doubt continue on,
making sure other lives are secure."

The Last Brave Man, said with resolve in his voice and a hand across his heart,
"Our country needed us, and when the time came, we were honored to do our part."

    God looked at each man,
slightly smiling and nodding his head to agree,
"Although it was not your choice to come,
I need you here with me."
"You have proven you are Brave on Earth and in Heaven,
so Angels you will now and forever be."

    Subject: EQUIPMENT TIPS
Some tactical equipment tips from a recent SOF deployer. Thoughts on equipment and stuff:

  • Armor Pointblank has gotten it right with Interceptor modular armor. You can set it up exactly how you need it. There is a pouch available for everything. It's light enough to wear all day but still stay manuverable. No more ungainly assault vests to go over your armor resticting you. Everyone here really likes it. And it will take hits and keep going. There are more extremity wounds now than ever before because it is saving lives by protecting torso's. The ceramic plates weigh 1/4 what the ones I got in 97 weigh. They are rated to 4 hits of .308.

    Sudden,Unexplained Infant Death Investigations
    By ERNST H. WEYAND

Investigating sudden, unexplained infant death (SUID) in the United States serves as one of the many challenges facing law enforcement officers. Federal, state, and local investigators alike often receive little introduction to SUID and do not fully understand their role in a SUID investigation when required to handle one. A more complete understanding of this role can enable law enforcement officers to work effectively through a SUID investigation, providing a much greater chance of an accurate determination of what caused or contributed to a child's death.

    U.S. to Fingerprint More Foreigners
WASHINGTON (AP) - A program requiring foreigners to be fingerprinted and photographed before entering the United States is being expanded to include millions of travelers from some of America's staunchest allies, officials said Friday.
The move affects citizens in 27 countries - including Britain, Japan and Australia - who had been allowed to travel within the United States without visas for up to 90 days. Officials said the change was prompted in part by concerns that terrorists might try to exploit those exemptions.

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - An al-Qaida intelligence chief reported killed during a 12-day border offensive by Pakistani forces is believed to be one of the FBI's "most wanted" terrorists and an architect of the 1998 bombings of U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, senior U.S. officials told NBC News on Monday.

26-Pound Bomb Found on Madrid Rail Line
MADRID, Spain (AP) - A Spanish railroad inspector found a 26-pound bomb hidden in a bag on a busy high- speed line Friday, and police said the device may contain the same dynamite used in last month's Madrid train bombings that killed 191 people.
Authorities immediately stopped six bullet trains using the Madrid-Seville line after the bomb was discovered before noon under a track about 40 miles south of Madrid. About 1,600 passengers left their trains and were taken to their destinations by charter buses.

More Civilians Bearing Brunt in Mosul
MOSUL, Iraq (AP) - Fewer U.S. troops patrol the streets of Iraq's third-largest city, while more Iraqi security forces drive through busy markets or sprawl on median strips in firing positions.
Deadly attacks on local police, translators and government officials also have become more familiar in Mosul, once seen as a success story of the U.S.-led occupation.

Marines Release Little on Attacks in Iraq
WASHINGTON (AP) - Citing a need to protect the troops, the Marine Corps operating in Fallujah and elsewhere in the volatile Sunni Triangle of central Iraq is restricting the information it releases about insurgent attacks that kill Marines.
On Friday, for example, a statement from the Marines' base camp outside Fallujah said a Marine had been killed the day before "as a result of enemy action" in Anbar province. In a break from the practice of other U.S. forces in Iraq, the Marines gave no details.

    FRANKS REVIEW

Wellsmade Custom Holsters:  Truly Well Made

Before I begin this week's review, I'd like to take the opportunity to offer my condolences, thoughts and prayers to the surviving family and friends of the Blackwater Security Professionals lost in Iraq.  ////  This week we're going to review some custom designed and manufactured holsters and belts made out of exotic leather.  Why?  Because we're all off-duty sometimes, but - as I learned from LtCol Dave Grossman:  "Off-duty" is a state of mind.  So (for those of you who are familiar with LtCol Grossman's teachings will recognize this) instead of "baaaaing" like a sheep as I step out my door, I find a way to comfortably and effectively carry a sidearm every time I leave my house.  Wellsmade Holsters may be exotic, but they certainly do the job in comfortably securing your weapon.

George Wells, the gentleman behind the company - and who still drives the company doing the large majority of the work - contacted me after seeing some other holster reviews in the Blackwater Tactical Weekly.  Specifically he was looking for some critical feedback on his holsters and felt that the Blackwater community would be the ideal place to get it.  After all, no one ever accuses those who frequent Blackwater of holding their tongue.  If things work, it gets said.  If equipment doesn't work, or performs poorly, that gets said too.  That kind of feedback is what George was looking for.
